Well Made Strategy grew alongside Well Told Story and Shujaaz Inc, the Emmy award winning pioneers of behaviour change communications in East Africa. We apply lessons learned across the group with individual partners seeking to achieve social justice change. Like Shujaaz, we put the Player First, making sure that all we do benefits – and is guided by – the people with whom we are working. We use an approach built upon Appreciative Inquiry that, rather than concentrating on what’s wrong, identifies organisations’ core strengths and builds upon them – Support not SWOT.
Over the past fifteen years we have developed a team of communications specialists with expertise in pedagogy, policy and persuasion. We have experience of journalism, advertising, diplomacy and learning; we have worked on sexual and reproductive health rights, financial inclusion, the environment and education. But above all, we have used strategic communications to help pioneers in those fields and the donors who fund them to achieve the impact they desire.
