Climate Crisis

“Saving our planet is now a communications challenge.”

In 2020 – like the rest of the world, we had plenty of time to think. We were set back by covid-19, rebounded, went pro bono for a few months and decided we had to do more than just support social change organisations to achieve impact. We needed to make an effort ourselves.

We work across many sectors with business and civil society, for-profit and not-for-profit partners. We recognised the one thing that we could all do in addition to our core work was to address the climate crisis. The locust plague and unpredictable weather in East Africa sharpened our resolve.

We embarked upon the complicated task of going carbon neutral and were helped a great deal by One Carbon World and the SME Climate Hub We were inspired by the folk at 4SD and by the UN’s sustainable development goals In no time, we achieved our goal of going carbon neutral but we have much more to do – now we’re going climate positive and we’re helping our partners to do it too – through our work on ESG reporting, our strategic communications work and our network creation.

In 2021, we achieved a gold status certification for reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. In line with the UN Climate Neutral Now Initiative and in collaboration with One Carbon World:

– WMS will reduce its carbon emissions to 8.47 tCO2e by 2025.  (22% reduction).

– WMS will decrease its carbon emissions to 5.45 tCO2e by 2030. (50% reduction).

Obviously we would love you to hire us but even if you can’t right now, you can still go climate neutral – just click here for all the help you need. It’s worth it – for you, for them, for us all.
