Naomi is a versatile, high performing professional, with 20+ years of proven experience in successful strategy and project implementation, operations and client relationship management across the banking, social enterprise and development sectors; having worked at NCBA Bank, National Democratic Institute, GIZ-the German agency for international development and ShujaazInc. Currently as a Management Consultant, Naomi’s expertise honed in organizational development, HR and Project management, supports SME’s and NGO’s in achieving their organizational growth. Naomi’s experience is buttressed with her MBA, PRINCE2® and Human Resource Management – academic and professional achievements.
Njuhi Chege is a seasoned nonprofit professional with a decade of experience driving social impact across the Middle East, Africa, and the U.S. Holding a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Sociology (University of Nairobi) and a Master’s in International Peace Studies (University of Notre Dame), she specializes in community-led strategies for poverty eradication, youth empowerment, and peacebuilding. As Senior Project Manager at Well Told Story (Kenya), she produced a radio show reaching 500,000+ listeners, advancing sexual reproductive health outcomes for vulnerable adolescent girls. At ITVS, under Gates Foundation funding, she spearheaded the viral online series Ms. Politician (1M+ views, 5M+ Facebook engagements) and trained 100 youth facilitators to deliver 300+ capacity-building sessions for 10,000+ Kenyans. Recognized for her leadership, she spoke at Harvard Law School (2013) and the Global Premiere of Girl Connected in NYC (2017). Caren Namalenya has eight years experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning. She has managed and evaluated international development projects across Africa, focusing on Education, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Financial Health, Food, and Media. Caren’s career highlights include her role as Programme Manager at GeoPoll and her work at Shujaaz Inc. She holds a Master’s in project planning and management and a Bachelor’s in Economics & Statistics from the University of Nairobi. Caren is passionate about supporting vulnerable populations. She also serves as a research advisor and Mentor at the Tapona Group Foundation and the Confidence Queen.
Mumbi Kanyogo (she/her/hers) is a feminist strategist and programme manager with extensive experience in grant management, donor relations, programme administration, and feminist movement strengthening. She has successfully designed, implemented, and overseen grant programmes worth a few hundred thousand dollars, managed strategic partnerships with international donors, and developed impactful feminist advocacy campaigns. Her expertise includes budget oversight, compliance, monitoring & evaluation, and capacity building for grassroots feminist organizations.
With over 30-year experience in designing and managing performance management systems Maria is a strong believer that creating and nurturing systems change is the key to boosting staff motivation and encouraging overall efficiencies.
Paul Ekuru has extensive leadership experience in media and communications across multiple markets. He effortlessly blends strategic thinking with creative flair for excellent outcomes. He has been named an Obama Leadership Fellow, a CFC Stanbic Media Rising Star and a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur. He graduated top of class (Summa Cum Laude) at United States International University and has been accepted at the London School of Economics for his postgraduate studies. Julian Macharia is a systems thinker, drawn to solving human problems in the global south in a practical yet effective way. He always makes the effort but seeks the path of least resistance. He has always found that good communications eases the way to success. He has spent his career in the communications and content value chain – from strategy, communication design and development to implementation. Starting out as a content producer, he moved to broadcast media, building and skilling community radio stations around East Africa and using media for behaviour change and activism. Julian is a media studies graduate and an Integral Associate Coach™. His alter ego has a diploma in interior design and is fascinated by the built environment.

Miles Bredin is Senior Partner at Well Made Strategy. He is a bestselling author and former foreign correspondent, who has covered politics, war and education across Africa as United Press International’s East Africa Bureau Chief in the early 90s and as a freelance writer. He has worked on strategic communications for BearingPoint/Deloitte and for himself – in Afghanistan, the United States, the United Kingdom and all over Africa. He is not an academic but was a Paul Mellon Fellow at Yale University’s Center for British Art when researching his biography of James Bruce for HarperCollins. He has worked across Africa, helping social justice organisations to create communications strategies that support their work.
Steve Mayaka, CPA, is a finance and accounting expert with over ten years of experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, tax, banking, budgeting, and grant management for Brot für die Welt, UKAID, DCA, Trócaire, and EQUITAS. Steve has successfully developed and implemented effective cash management systems, advanced forecasting tools, and strategic planning frameworks to improve financial performance and sustainability. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK), Certified Treasury Analyst™ (GAFM), and Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA™) from CFI. In his leisure time, Steve enjoys playing table tennis and soccer.
Sarah Forde has worked with non-profits throughout Africa. A BBC trained journalist, she has focused on curriculum and programme development for girls’ sports, and she provides strategic advice to international networks concerned with gender, sports, and development. She is adept at supporting non-profits’ organisational development and fostering their creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in communication. Research and analysis of development funds, such as the Ford Foundation Women’s Rights Initiative, are among her areas of specialisation. She is a certified and active Integral Master Coach™ and the author of three books on adolescent girls, gender-based violence, and football development.
Lisa Owino is the Strategic Communications Associate at Well Made Strategy. She is passionate about contributing to a just, equal world and aspires to influence how people think about social justice issues. She is a lawyer by training and brings five years’ experience in health rights advocacy including project management, policy advocacy, movement building, research, and fundraising. She also coordinates partnerships at the Kenya Communications Hub, a narrative change network that seeks to equip civil society actors and creatives with the tools to communicate effectively.
